Who's Paul?

Hi, I'm Paul. I'm a masters level marriage and family intern working at Melton Counseling Group. I help anxious and confused individuals and couples navigate complicated life choices so that they can regain a sense of who they are and get some control over their life.

I’ve been married for thirty years with two grown boys, have experience running a small company and even played drums professionally for years.  I also did tourism photography for the state of Tennessee.  (I like to stay busy.)  I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories.

My goal is to provide you a safe place to talk about your challenges and day-to-day stresses - a place you can go without fear of judgment. It may be that you're going through something that needs an outsider's perspective. I'd be glad to help you make some good decisions and start finding a sense of clarity around relationships, career choices, and other areas of confusion.

I love modern world of counseling because we now know so much about how to help people overcome problems that may have plagued them for years.  The counseling process is about finding new ways of looking at your relationships and making them better and stronger. It’s about dealing with traumas, depression, and the sources of anxiety that rob you of joy and happiness. Maybe you feel lost and don’t know where to turn. It’s easy to become overwhelmed in a world that seems full of confusion and contradiction.

I love working with people trying to find their place in the world, couples trying to create a better marriage, and people of all ages trying to find the answers to the problems they face.  It would be my privilege to walk beside you on your road to emotional, social and psychological well-being.
