Does your child display difficult emotions or behaviors that get in the way of them being their best self? Is your child struggling to get along with others, either at school or at home? Is your family going through a transition, such as moving, divorce, or a loss of some kind, that is having a negative impact on your child? I provide a warm, welcoming environment, where your child will feel safe to develop more positive coping skills, social skills, and self-esteem. Through play, creative projects, and by providing a listening ear, your child will become more attuned to their own emotions and develop skills to manage them better. I also work closely with families so that we are all on the same page and working together for the benefit of your child.
I'm also available for school or community visits to work with elementary and middle school aged children who may be needing extra support in times of transition or conflict. I'm happy to provide individual and group counseling, as well as social-emotional education around various topics, such as feelings/empathy, repairing harm, grief/loss, etc. Rates may be different, so please reach out for additional information.
Additionally, I work with people of any age who are interested in growing in their creative pursuits. I believe that every person has creative potential that can be cultivated in order to lead to a more fulfilling life. Often, our creative drive can help us through challenging times, as well, and transform such challenges into experiences of growth.
Before joining Melton Counseling Group, I worked as a counselor in San Francisco Bay Area schools for seven years, at all grade levels (kindergarten through college). I am thrilled to now live in East Nashville with my husband and two boys. In my spare time, I enjoy writing and illustrating.
