“The human soul doesn’t want to be advised or fixed or saved. It simply wants to be witnessed, to be seen, heard and companioned exactly as it is.” -- Parker Palmer
This echoes my approach to counseling, meeting you where you are while listening with an open heart and mind. After a volunteer experience at a grief camp for children and adolescents I was guided to join the counseling field. Since then I have primarily worked with adolescent boys and adult men focusing on a range of topics including grief and loss, anxiety, self-esteem, social isolation, emotional literacy and life transitions, while incorporating ecotherapy into sessions. I am passionate about connecting individuals of all ages with nature.
I studied mental health counseling at Trevecca University in Nashville, graduating with a master’s degree in 2019. During my graduate studies I pursued in-depth ecotherapy training from the Earth Body Institute and the Holos Institute. I also became a Member of the Children & Nature Network.
East Nashville is currently home where I live with my wife and daughter. When not counseling, you can find me as a stay-at-home father, exploring nature, bicycling or catching a movie at the Belcourt. I look forward to the opportunity to sit, walk and hike with you.
